Starting new.

How do you value yourself as an artist? What is your end goal by being one? It doesn't hurt to pad your resume with poster contests but remember, there are others that will follow you and how the organization values you today will effect others tomorrow.

It isn't the little things that matter, unless they are all piled up and you realize how they have gotten away from you.

Diversity is good for investments but it is also important for business as well. Consider Covid, when store fronts had to close and the long term effects of that on so many business owners. How many didn't come back from that?

How is it that artists loose out on a great opportunity? By not being easy to work with and getting in the way. Any chance of success can be blown by trying to control everything and having professionals trip over your efforts to do their job.

A quick look at being a part of an organization that supports your cause. Don't hurt it by saying you can be there and never show up. Look at your time and how much you enjoy it before making it a big part of your schedule.

It never hurts to revisit where you started, sometimes looking at the start with someone who is standing there gives you a new perspective. I visited some friends this week at their residencies and I learned a lot.

I step out of my life for a moment, to listen to a crafter from a different age.

No, Sometimes I only know how good I am not. It is alright, it means I have places to go. This week is about why artists never seem to be satisfied and why that is actually a good thing.
