Being involved in the art business can see you facing a ton of things you aren't familiar with. New experiences can bring new challenges, asking your community for guidance can really help you conquer the obstacles you encounter.
Paying commissions feels like a travesty to many but those galleries earn every penny of it. Look at what you get for what you are paying before you commit to the contract. If it doesn't feel equitable, just don't sign the contract and hang on their walls.
Sometimes, we try things to see if we like it. Other times, we do things because we said we would. As artists; we experiment with new concepts, materials and ideas. It doesn't matter if you stick with it but I can tell you if you don't give it your best effort, you will really never know the truth about what can happen.
