This painting was included in The Jundt Museum’s biannual Landscape show in 2024. The movement of water over the rocks is mesmerizing and can put me in a place of calm as I capture it. Monument Valley has fascinated us since the first people named each pinnacle that lifts of the valley floor. I was drawn to the cloud structure in this piece. The elevation of the clouds reach to god and tease the area with a hope of rain.

Sometimes you take on a project that is years ahead of where you are standing. It takes time and courage, and you find yourself questioning your ability. When you complete it, the piece stands out from everything else and you are in awe of what you have done. That was "Finding It's Way", Here it is 4 years later and I have found my way to this piece. Enjoy the flow of music that water creates and the cool clear air that you find standing next to it. The reference material was from a trip I took to Zion National Park. “To him who in the love of Nature holds communion with her visible forms, she speaks a various language” This quote kept going through my mind as I painted this. I was demonstrating in the front yard of a gallery in the woods and this lovely poem seemed to say everything that the painting expressed
